Eric Bensen

Eric E. Bensen is a nationally recognized intellectual property law author and practitioner. In addition to his work on Patent Law Perspectives,he is a coauthor of Milgrim on Trade Secrets, Milgrim on Licensing and Patent Licensing Transactions, three other leading intellectual property treatises from Matthew Bender, and Bensen & Myers on Litigation Management, a groundbreaking book from LexisNexis that sets forth a sophisticated, but easy to implement methodology for effective and efficient management of even the most complex litigations. He authored and updates Intellectual Property in Bankruptcy (Collier Monograph ebook), which provides a unique look at the intersection between intellectual property and bankruptcy law with a focus on intellectual property licenses in bankruptcy proceedings. His other writings include a number of influential articles on patent law, including "Using Apportionment to Rein in the Georgia-Pacific Factors" for the Columbia Science & Technology Law Review and "Apportionment of Lost Profits in Contemporary Patent Damages Cases " for the Virginia Journal of Law & Technology.

In addition to writing, Mr. Bensen assists clients with complex intellectual property issues arising in litigation and licensing and the development of intellectual property protection strategies.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Bensen was in practice for more than 12 years during which time he led attorney teams in successful litigations of highly complex patent and trade secret matters before the International Trade Commission and a wide range of intellectual property cases in federal and state courts throughout the country. Charles A. Eldering, Ph.D


Dr. Charles Edlering has extensive experience in the electronics, telecommunications and optics industries as a researcher, engineer and inventor, having close to 20 years of industrial experience prior to founding Technology, Patents & Licensing in 1998. Since founding TPL, he has been focused on helping clients obtain and utilize patents by providing services that cover the combined technical, legal, and business aspects of patents. Charles's work at TPL has included the development of patent portfolios for numerous companies in the telecommunications and networking fields. His work with several start-ups was a contributing factor in their ability to obtain multi-billion dollar valuations which lead to acquisition or successful public offerings. Jim Longacre

Anthony W. Shaw


Anthony W. Shaw is counsel in Arent Fox LLP's patent litigation practice. He is a member of the intellectual property and litigation groups. He has extensive experience in the areas of patent litigation and counseling, in addition to transactional work in various technologies. Tony has represented clients before the federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. He is experienced in all aspects of discovery and trial, including claim construction hearings. Matthew W. Stavish


Mr. Stavish was a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office in various arts and classifications where he reviewed patent applications for compliance with U.S. Patent and Trademark requirements and technological accuracy in the art of interrelated motor and transmission controls (classes 74 and 475), including planetary/non-planetary gear systems, differential driveline systems, hydraulic transmissions, continuously variable transmissions, auxiliary transmissions, and mechanical mechanisms. John M. White


John M. White began his career as a civil engineer with the Federal Highway Administration as a Field Engineer. Following 5 years as an engineer, he worked in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner for automobile transmissions and control systems. Mr. White entered private practice in 1987, and started his own firm, Longacre & White, in 1988. In 1998, Mr. White merged his firm with Liniak & Berenato, now known as Berenato & White. He has more than 20 years experience in all aspects of intellectual property, including patent and trademark prosecution, litigation, infringement and validity analysis and opinion writing. Mr. White has served as an expert witness in numerous patent litigation matters and has also successfully argued before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Office Board of Appeals and Interferences. Mr. White is the principal lecturer for Practising Law Institute Patent Bar Review Course, and creator of the course series, How to Prosecute Patents, a 16 hour video/online lecture series for recent patent bar admittees.
