The Certification and Accreditation Administration of China ("CNCA") has recently released the Announcement on the Arrangement for the Affixing of CCC Mark During the Transition Period to Relevant Products No Longer Subject to the China Compulsory Certification System (the "Announcement").
For the purpose of effectively implementing the policy-level measures regarding the China Compulsory Certification reform, as provided for in the Announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China on Reforming and Adjusting the Catalog of Products Subject to China Compulsory Certification and the Manner of Implementation, the Announcement outlines the arrangement on how to affix CCC mark during the transition period to relevant products that will no longer be subject to the China Compulsory Certification. To be specific, if an enterprise uses the printing/pressing methods to indicate CCC mark, it is allowed to naturally remove the printed or pressed CCC mark from the exteriors and packages of its products step by step, in view of the necessary cycle for the enterprise to update its production moulds and products and packages in stock, for the purpose of not adding its burden. However, if an enterprise directly affixes standard-size CCC mark to its products, it shall not affix such standard-size CCC mark any longer from the date when the certification certificate expires.
