The Certification and Accreditation Administration of China ("CNCA") has recently distributed the Circular on Matters Concerning Launching the Quality Management Enhancement Program among Small and Micro Firms (the "Circular").
The Circular expressly states that around 50 small and micro firms with a strong desire to boost their quality management will be selected from five industries, including the chemicals, machinery, metals, optoelectrical equipment, and information technology, to verify whether the 16 guides to the building of the quality management system and guides to certification examination, prepared earlier, are scientific and feasible. The Circular states that certification agencies engaged in the early-stage survey of current quality status of small and micro firms in five industries may recommend small and micro firms for such verification. Relevant certification agencies shall carefully fill in the Recommendation Letter for Small and Micro Firms in line with relevant requirements, and need to clearly specify in particular what efforts at technology, manpower, funds and policies the certification agencies and relevant local entities have made, and submit the paper application materials bearing the official seals and signatures as well as their scanned copies by June 20, 2019.
