The Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce ("SAIC") has recently issued the Announcement on Improving the Way to Issue Trademark Registration Certificates (the "Announcement").
The Announcement notes that according to requirements given in the Announcement on Improving the Way to Issue Trademark Registration Certificates and Their Content and Format, for trademark registration applications filed directly or online by applicants on or after January 1, 2017 (excluding those accepted at the local windows established for accepting trademark applications), the Trademark Registration Certificates will be directly send to the trademark registration applicants after the trademarks have been examined and registered, and the previous Notice for Fetching the Trademark Registration Certificate will no longer be served. However, the trademark applications filed through trademark agencies and at local windows established for accepting trademark registration applications, the Trademark Registration Certificates concerned will still be issued on a commission basis through the said agencies and local windows as before. The new way of issuing trademark registration certificates has come into force as of January 11, 2018.
