The Certification and Accreditation Administration of China ("CNCA") has recently distributed the Announcement on Matters Concerning the Reform in Compulsory Product Certification Mark (the "Announcement").
The Announcement provides that from March 20, 2018, the examination performed by the designated mark issuing agency over the printing and molding the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark is cancelled, and the corresponding examination charges are cancelled as well; instead, accredited enterprises will be allowed to print and mold the CCC mark on their own. And accredited enterprises that will print and mold CCC mark by themselves shall be subject to the Administrative Requirements for the Labeling of Compulsory Product Certification Mark. Additionally, the Announcement expressly states that from May 1, 2018, the designated accreditation agencies will undertake administration of the issuance of CCC mark made to the standard specification, and the fees shall be charged under the rules specified in the Circular of the National Development and Reform Commission on Lifting the Control over Charges for Certain Inspection and Detection Operating Services. From March 20, 2018, the specific categories, such as S (Safety Products), EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility), S&E (Safety & Electro Magnetic Compatibility), F (Fire Fighting), and I (Information Security), will no longer be indicated on CCC mark, and former CCC mark may be weeded out naturally according to the replacement period of molds and the product inventory.
