The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ("MIIT") and the Standardization Administration of China ("SAC") have recently released a series of policy documents, including the National Guide for Developing the System of Industry Standards for Internet of Vehicles (General Requirements), the National Guide for Developing the System of Industry Standards for Internet of Vehicles (Information Communication) and the National Guide for Developing the System of Industry Standards for Internet of Vehicles (Electronic Products and Services) (collectively as the "Guides").
The Guides are classified by standardization target and industrial attribute into different copies with respect to general requirements, intelligent connected vehicles, information communication, electronic products and services. In particular, the standards system for information communication is designed for the standards system applicable to information communication technologies, network and equipment, and application services for the internet of vehicles, and vigorous efforts shall be made to do research into new generation information communication technologies, such as LTE-V2X and 5G eV2X; the standards system for electronic products and services is intended for the standardization of automotive electronic products, vehicle-mounted information systems, vehicle-mounted information services and platforms, which are the backbone of the industry chain for internet of vehicles, and clearly specifies the direction towards which the standardization of electronic products and vehicle-mounted information services for the internet of vehicles will stride ahead.
