The State Council has recently distributed the Official Reply on Approving the Proposed National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone in Chenzhou City, the Official Reply of the State Council on Approving the Proposed National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone in Lincang City, and the Official Reply of the State Council on Approving the Proposed National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone in Chengde City (the "Official Reply").
The Official Reply states that, with the aim of addressing such major issues as instable water conservation and difficulties in targeted and stable poverty alleviation, multiple technologies will be adopted to fight against drought, save water resources, plant trees, prevent and control desertification, restore degenerated grasslands, standardize the manufacturing and processing of green agricultural products, and pursue "internet plus smart tourism" strategy, and a series of programs will be launched to enhance the water conservation capacity, develop green industries, advance targeted poverty alleviation and boost the innovation capacity, and other efforts will be made to integrate various innovation resources, deepen reforms of systems and mechanisms, explore feasible technical routes and systematic solutions, and create effective models that could be operated, reproduced and popularized. All of these efforts are aimed at forming an exemplary model of sustainable development for ecological functional zones of similar city clusters across the country and gaining practical experience for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
