The National Health Commission ("NHC") has recently issued the 2019 Scheme of Scheduled Projects on National Food Safety Standards (the "Scheme").
The Scheme enumerates two standards about food products, 10 standards for the quality and specification of food additives, one standard for food-related products, seven codes of production and business operations, and 37 standards in relation to testing methods and procedures. Among others, the two standards about food products are the standard for "milk protein" and the National Food Safety Standard: Brewed Wine and Their Integrated Alcoholic Beverages (GB 2758-2012). Food-related products include "food contact silicone rubber materials and their products". The codes of production and business operations include the "National Food Safety Standard: General Good Hygienic Practices for Food Production (GB14881-2013)", the "code of control of lead contamination in food", the "code of practices for prevention and reduction of patulin in fruit juice", the "code of control of ochratoxin A contamination in wine, coffee and cocoa", the "code of control of urethane contamination in wine", the "code of control of tin contamination in canned food" and etc.
