The Ministry of Commerce ("MOFCOM") has recently issued the Third Batch of Best Practice Cases in the Pilot Program of Wider Opening up of the Service Industry in Beijing Municipality (the "Cases").
This batch of cases are intended to promote a number of best practices across the whole country and provide all localities with reference for opening up the service industry wider, fostering the high-quality development of the service industry and stabilizing the fundamentals of foreign trade and foreign investment. The seven cases correspond to the tasks of the comprehensive pilot program of wider opening up of the service industry, and highlight the latest practical achievements in international cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative, intellectual property protection and application, improvement to regulatory means, and development of emerging business forms. Among others, three cases concern international cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative, including one that deals with integrated legal and commercial services for the Belt and Road Initiative; another two cases, one regarding the "fast track" for prioritized examination of patent applications, are cited to illustrate the intellectual property protection and application of relevant results in this regard; and the remaining two cases touch upon improvement to regulatory means and development of emerging business forms, respectively.
