All insurance bureaus, all insurance companies, and all insurance agencies,

To implement the relevant requirements calling for regulating financial marketing and publicity campaigns, tighten administration and control over insurance marketing and publicity campaigns on self-media, deal with misleading insurance sales activities, and practically safeguard the lawful rights and interests of insurance consumers, the relevant requirements are hereby provided as below.

I. Raising Awareness of the Significance of Strengthening the Administration of Insurance Marketing and Publicity Campaigns on Self-media
At present, self-media platforms, including internet websites, applications, blogs, micro-blogs, official accounts, WeChat, etc. have developed into important platforms for insurance companies, insurance agencies as well as insurance practitioners to display their corporate image, promote insurance products, introduce insurance business, generalize insurance knowledge and publicize insurance ideas. However, facing issues concerning a low access threshold, numerous publishing subjects, inadequate information review, and rapid transmission, self-media platforms have become a common place where misleading insurance sales activities arise and untruthful information is spread, which causes serious damage to the lawful rights and interests of insurance consumers and also gives rise to enormous hidden dangers that may spark insurance consumption disputes and mass incidents. All insurance companies and insurance agencies must fully understand the significance and urgency of efforts in managing and controlling insurance marketing and publicity campaigns on self-media, make solid efforts through stricter advance precautions, better in-process monitoring and tougher ex-post accountability to manage and control their insurance marketing and publicity activities and their insurance practitioners on self-media, and eradicate those illegal or improper insurance marketing and publicity campaigns on self-media that violate laws, administrative regulations and relevant provisions of the insurance regulator, such as the Insurance Law, the Advertising Law and the Cyber Security Law or go contrary to public order, good customs or the good faith principle.
