Supplementary Circular of the Quality Development Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation on Further Standardization of Reports on New Energy Vehicle Accidents

All relevant manufacturers and entities,
In order to strengthen the supervision of safety recalls of new energy vehicles and further standardize the new energy vehicle accident reporting system, the following supplementary circular is hereby issued in accordance with the Circular of the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation on Further Strengthening the Management of Recall of New Energy Vehicles (Shi Jian Zhi Han [2019] No.531):
I. Where manufacturers learn that new energy vehicles which they have manufactured, sold or imported have smoke or fire accidents in the Chinese market, they shall report the basic information, including Items 1 to 5 of the New Energy Vehicle Fire Accident Information Sheet (for Trial Implementation) (see the Appendix), of the accidents to the Quality Development Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation within 12 hours after the occurrence of such accidents (with six hours if the accidents have caused casualties or major social impacts).
