As stipulated in the bidding documents and contract of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), a foreign company, when involved in the cooperation to extract China's offshore oil, shall make contributions in China's oil prospecting, development and production. After the contract comes into force, the foreign company shall pay CNOOC a lump sum signing-on fee. The following are the provisions on the taxation of the signing-on fee and contribution fee paid to CNOOC by the above mentioned foreign contractor:
