(The Provisions were passed by the Decree No. 146 of the State Council of the People's Republic of China on 3 February 1994 and amended in accordance with the "Decision of the State Council on Amending the 'Provisions of the State Council on Employees' Working Hours'" on 25 March 1995. )
　
Article 1 In order to rationalize working and rest hours of employees, safeguard their right to take rest, mobilize their work enthusiasm and promote the development of socialist modernization, the Provisions are promulgated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution.
