The General Administration of Customs ("GAC") has recently issued the Announcement on Adjusting the Conventional Tariff Rate for Certain Merchandises under the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreements (the "Announcement").
The Announcement expressly states that, according to the Letter of the Office of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Issues Concerning the Tariff Rate for Certain Merchandises under the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreements, from May 18, 2018, the conventional tariff rate applicable to colza oil under two tax codes (15149110 and 15149900), as provided in the Table of Conventional Tariff Rates for Imported Goods Subject to Further Reduced Tariffs, Schedule 5 of the Appendix: 2018 Tariff Adjustment Plan to the Circular of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on the 2018 Tariff Adjustment Plan (Shui Wei Hui [2017] No.27), is made to be nine percent again.
