The General Administration of Customs ("GAC") has recently issued the Announcement [2017] No.36 to introduce amendments (Installment I and Installment II) to Annotations on Commodities and Items under the Import and Export Tariff (Edition 2017). These amendments will enter into force as of September 1, 2017.
The Installment I includes 14 changes brought to the Annotations on Commodities and Items under the Import and Export Tariff (Edition 2017). Three amendments, among other things, are outlined as follows. For annotations for Item 20.09 in the last but six row on Page 137, the substance "asbestos" is removed, thus updating the original provision to read as "II. Filtration: generally made through filter boards with diatomite or cellulose-made covers". With regard to annotations for Item 39.26 in the last row on Page 553, the added new point follows the last row, reading as "XIII. Artificial nails". And a second paragraph is added after the first paragraph of annotations 8415.10 in the 14th row on Page 1094, reading as "the so-called placement means that appliances are placed or installed in an almost perpetual state, which could be judged depending on certain factors, such as their size, weight, physical structure (such as whether there is a caster or handler), and the way of connection".
