The Ministry of Ecology and Environment ("MEE") has recently compiled and issued the Code of Eco-environmental Conduct of Citizens (for Trial Implementation) (Draft for Comment) (the "Draft for Comment") for public consultation by May 18, 2018.
The Draft for Comment comprises ten articles with respect to the saving of energy resources, pursuit of green consumption, preference for low-carbon travels and other aspects. The Draft for Comment calls for preferring green products, buying and consuming fewer disposable goods, electronic products that are updated within short periods and over-packaged commodities, purchasing more renewable products and durable goods, carrying plastic bags and cups with yourself when you go out, exchanging or donating idle objects, giving preference to travelling by walk, bike, public transport or shared means of transport, and giving consideration to new energy vehicles or energy-saving vehicles first when citizens are thinking of buying automobiles. Furthermore, the Draft for Comment stresses the need to protect valuable, rare and endangered species of wild animals and not to destroy the habitat of wild animals and plants, enter natural reserves at will or purchase or use products made from wild animals or plants.
