All provincial tobacco monopoly administrations (companies) and industrial corporations, China Tobacco Industry Development Center, Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute, and all inspection and quarantine bureaus directly under the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine,
The Provisions of the People's Republic of China for the Packaging and Labeling of Cigarettes in China have been determined upon discussion by the member entities of China's Inter-ministerial Coordination and Leading Group on the Implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, and are hereby issued.
Provisions of the People's Republic of China for the Packaging and Labeling of Cigarettes in China
These Provisions are formulated in accordance with the relevant provisions and requirements of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, as well as the Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China and the Law of the People's Republic of China on Tobacco Monopoly.
Article 1 These Provisions apply to the packaging and labeling for all cartons and packets of cigarettes produced in China for domestic consumption, imported from overseas, and sold in domestic duty-free shops.
Article 2 Warnings shall be printed on each individual packet and/or carton of cigarettes with the standard Chinese characters of the People's Republic of China.
