Announcement of the China Food and Drug Administration on Several Administrative Provisions concerning the Residues of Veterinary Drugs during the Production and Operation of Animal-derived Food

In order to further strengthen the management of the residues of veterinary drugs during the production and operation of animal-derived food, prohibit illegal use of veterinary drugs, and regulate the production and processing of animal-derived food, and in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and related laws and regulations, the relevant provisions are hereby announced as follows:
I. Producers of animal-derived food shall strictly implement the inspection and recording system for raw material purchase, and are prohibited from using livestock and poultry meat and aquatic products with excessive veterinary drugs listed in Appendices II and III to the Maximum Residual Amounts of Veterinary Drugs for Animal-derived Food (Announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture No.235) as the raw materials for food processing; they are prohibited from using livestock and poultry meat and aquatic products containing the veterinary drugs listed in Appendix IV to the Announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture No.235 as raw materials for food processing; and they are prohibited from using livestock and poultry meat and aquatic products containing the veterinary drugs set out in the List of Veterinary Drugs and Other Chemical Compounds Prohibited for Food-producing Animals (Announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture No.193) and other veterinary drugs expressly prohibited by the State as raw materials for food processing.
