Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Strict Limits on Extending Trial Periods and Delaying Opening Court Sessions for Civil and Commercial Cases, adopted at the 1737th meeting of the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People's Court on April 23, 2018, are hereby promulgated and shall come into force as of April 26, 2018.

Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Strict Limits on Extending Trial Periods and Delaying Opening Court Sessions for Civil and Commercial Cases

(Adopted at the 1737th meeting of the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People's Court on April 23, 2018 and coming into force as of April 26, 2018)

To safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of litigants in proceedings, issues on extending trial periods and delaying opening court sessions for civil and commercial cases are hereby clarified as follows, in accordance with the Civil Procedure Law and other provisions and in consideration of judicial practices.

Article 1 When trying civil and commercial cases, people's courts shall strictly observe the rules concerning trial periods in laws and judicial interpretations.
