The Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending Fifteen Laws Including the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Wild Animals, adopted at the Sixth Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on October 26, 2018, is hereby promulgated for implementation as of the date of promulgation.

Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending Fifteen Laws Including the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Wild Animals

It has been decided at the Sixth Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress to:
I. Amend the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Wild Animals
1. Amend "forestry" in Article 7 as "forestry and grassland".
2. Amend "and conduct entry and exit quarantine according to the law. The customs clearance formalities shall be completed on the strength of import and export permits and the quarantine certificates in accordance with the relevant regulations" in Paragraph 2 of Article 35 as "The customs shall conduct entry and exit quarantine according to the law and complete the customs clearance formalities on the strength of import and export permits and the quarantine certificates in accordance with the relevant regulations".
3. Amend "Besides, it shall conduct entry quarantine according to the law. The customs shall deal with the clearance formalities on the strength of import approval documents or the import and export permit along with the quarantine certificate in accordance with the relevant regulations" in Paragraph 1 of Article 37 as "The customs shall conduct entry quarantine according to the law and deal with the clearance formalities on the strength of import approval documents or the import and export permit along with the quarantine certificate in accordance with the relevant regulations".
4. Amend "industrial and commercial administrative departments" in Articles 48, 49 and 51 as "market regulation departments".
5. Delete "the inspection and quarantine departments" in Article 52.
II. Amend the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China
Delete "The execution of administrative sanction provided for in Article 26 of this Law may also be determined by the administrative departments for industry and commerce" in Article 30.
