With a view to further improving the quality of judicial documents, in line with work arrangements, the Supreme People's Court seeks public comments on the Opinions on Reinforcing the Protection of Copyright and Copyright-related Rights (Draft for Comment). People from all walks of life are invited to, prior to September 20, 2020, submit comments on the revision thereto in Chinese by letter (including China Post EMS) or e-mail.

Opinions of the Supreme People's Court on Reinforcing the Protection of Copyright and Copyright-related Rights (Draft for Comment)
Copyright and copyright-related rights are important parts of intellectual property rights. Effectively reinforcing the protection of relevant rights in the copyright domain is of great practical significance to promote the development and prosperity of China's cultural and scientific undertakings. With a view to giving full play to the judicial function of people's courts and reinforcing the protection of copyright and copyright-related rights, the following opinions are formulated in accordance with the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China and other legal provisions.
I. Earnestly Reinforcing the Protection of Copyright and Promoting the Prosperity and Development of Socialist Culture
1. We shall take into account the interests of creators, disseminators and the public in a coordinated manner, deal well with the relationship between encouraging the development of emerging technologies and emerging industries and safeguarding right holders' legitimate rights and interests, coordinate the relationship among encouraging creation, promoting industry development and safeguarding basic cultural rights and interests, strictly protect copyright and copyright-related rights in accordance with the law, and promote the creation and dissemination of intellectual achievements, thus developing prosperous socialist cultural and scientific undertakings.
